Poh Pong![]() Poh Pong
Story written by Kristopher Hall A mother’s love is perhaps the strongest emotion in the world, followed closely by a mother’s guilt. With such powerful love is the tendency for a mother to feel as if she can never do enough for her baby, and this feeling is made even stronger when it is her own body, or that of her baby, that she cannot change. Imagine the sadness of a mother lying in a hospital bed without the ability to produce milk for her child, and instead having to ask the mother staying in the bed next to her for help. Now imagine that she has to feed this milk to her newborn infant with a spoon because her baby has a cleft and cannot drink normally. Add to this the burden of a limited education that makes her believe this is all her fault because she worked too hard while she was pregnant. This is a woman and a child that Operation Smile has helped. These are two lives that have been changed. Read more Smile Stories > |
